Title: New Source Performance Standards (NSPS) Review Strategy
Abstract: The Clean Air Act (CAA) requires the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to review new source performance standards (NSPS) within a specified time frame following the initial promulgation of the standard and, if appropriate, revise the standard. The required review cycle varies depending on the applicable section of the CAA. The NSPS written to comply with section 111 of the CAA should be reviewed every 8 years. The review time frame for NSPS written to comply with section 129 of the CAA should be reviewed every 5 years. This strategy outlines EPAs proposed procedure for fulfilling our statutory obligation to review and, if appropriate, revise the NSPS.
