Abstract: This rulemaking would change the fire protection standards for issuing original and amended type certificates for aircraft engines and harmonize Federal Aviation Administration and European Aviation Safety Agency certification standards. Harmonization would lower the cost of airplane engine development, enhance safety, simplify international type certifications, codify current industry practices, and clarify existing requirements. | |
