Title: FMVSS No. 214, Reconsideration of Side Impact Protection 
Abstract: This rulemaking would respond to petitions for reconsideration on the September 11, 2007, FMVSS No. 214, Side impact protection, final rule. The petition issues addressed by this action would include: lead time, phase-in schedules, and the pole test impact speed. This rulemaking would also correct aspects of the seating procedure, for the SID dummy, and the Federal Register citation for low volume manufacturers. Other remaining petition for reconsideration issues pertaining to the September 11, 2007, final rule would be addressed in a separate notice.
