Title: Hazardous Materials; Miscellaneous Amendments | |
Abstract: This non-significant rulemaking would make miscellaneous amendments to the Hazardous Materials Regulations based on petitions for rulemaking and PHMSA initiative. This rulemaking would update, clarify and provide relief from various HMR requirements, primarily to reduce regulatory burdens on industry, including: (1) Updating the list of materials incorporated by reference; (2) amending the Hazardous Materials Table to remove, add and revise certain proper shipping names; (3) adding a new definition for "Household Waste"; and (4) authorizing the use of alternative angle valves on cargo tanks that transport chlorine. | |
