Title: Community Residential Care Program
Abstract: The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) proposes to amend the regulations concerning Community Residential Care by making miscellaneous changes to update the regulations. The updates are limited to the adoption of the 2005 fire safety codes, the requirement that certain facilities have safe and functioning systems for cooling, the deletion of the requirements for VA to prepare a statement of needed care for veterans, the removal of provisions allowing facilities to be approved without meeting certain requirements, and the provision for facility approvals to be for 12-month periods or to be approved provisionally until appropriate improvements are made.
