Title: IAEA and DOT Compatibility | |
Abstract: The proposed rule would amend the Commissions regulations at 10 CFR part 71 to make the requirements compatible with the 2005 edition of the International Atomic Energy Agency Transportation Safety Standards, TS-R-1, and changes to the Department of Transportation Hazardous Materials Regulations. This rulemaking would make other changes to 10 CFR part 71. The proposed rule would amend the quality assurance requirements to make the regulation of quality assurance programs more efficient. In addition, the proposed rule would (1) clarify the general license requirements and (2) make changes to the exemptions relating to the classification of fissile material and low-level materials. | |
