Title: Establish 2008 Quotas for North and South Atlantic Swordfish
Abstract: This rule will establish the 2008 fishing season quotas for North and South Atlantic swordfish based on recent updated landings information and recommendations from the 2006 meeting of the International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tunas (ICCAT). This rule is necessary to ensure that current swordfish quotas account for underharvests and reserve transfer from the 2007 fishing year, consistent with regulations at 50 CFR part 635 and ICCAT recommendations that establish the U.S. North and South Atlantic swordfish allocations. This rule may also include other minor regulatory clarifications.
