Title: Endangered and Threatened Wildlife and Plants; Delisting the Utah Valvata (Valvata Utahensis)
Abstract: We are making a 12-month finding on a petition to delist the Utah valvata (Valvata utahensis ), a snail found in the mid-Snake River in south-central Idaho, and proposing the Utah valvata for delisting. After thoroughly reviewing the best available information and scientific literature, conducting peer review on that information, and completing a structured decisionmaking workshop, we have determined the Utah valvata is not restricted to free-flowing cool water environments and is more widely distributed than known at the time of listing. Based on this new information and our improved understanding of threats, the weight of the evidence indicates the species is not in danger of extinction, nor is it likely to become endangered in the foreseeable future throughout all or a significant portion of its range.
