Title: ●Endangered and Threatened Wildlife and Plants; Revised Critical Habitat for Preble’s Meadow Jumping Mouse (Zapus hudsonius preblei)
Abstract: In a July 10, 2008 amended listing rule (73 FR 39789), we determined that: (a) The Preble’s meadow jumping mouse (Zapus hudsonius preblei) is a valid subspecies and should not be delisted based upon taxonomic revision; (b) the subspecies is not threatened throughout all of its range; and (c) the portion of the subspecies’ current range located in Colorado represents a significant portion of the current range where the subspecies should retain its threatened status. As we revise critical habitat for the Preble's meadow jumping mouse, we will reassess critical habitat for the Preble's meadow jumping mouse based on our July 10, 2008, amended listing rule. Our analysis will include an assessment of all known and potential habitat within Colorado, where the species remains listed.
