Title: Disaster Assistance; Public Assistance Repetitive Damage
Abstract: FEMA is publishing this proposed rule to implement subsection 205(b) of the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000, which amends section 406 of the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act, to create a Federal cost-share reduction for eligible public facilities that have been damaged on more than one occasion within the preceding 10-year period and the owner of which failed to implement appropriate mitigation measures. To meet the requirements of this amendment, the proposed regulation would reduce the Federal share of eligible funding to 25 percent if appropriate mitigation measures have not been accomplished on a repetitively damaged facility.
