Title: ●Enhanced 911 (E-911) Grant Program
Abstract: This rulemaking would implement regulations for the E-911 grant program. The "Ensuring Needed Help Arrives Near Callers Employing 911 Act of 2004" ("E-911 Act"), Public Law 108-494, authorizes the establishment of a joint grant program between the Assistant Secretary for Communications and Information, Department of Commerce and the Administrator of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, U.S. Department of Transportation for the implementation and operation of Phase II E-911 services. The E-911 Act requires the two agencies to issue joint regulations prescribing the criteria for selection for grants, including performance requirements and timeline for completion of any project to be financed by the grant.
