Title: Dependency and Indemnity Compensation Benefits
Abstract: The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has published a series of Notices of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRMs) setting out new proposed regulations governing VA compensation, pension, burial, and related benefits that would be located in a new part of the Code of Federal Regulations. This amendment adds regulations concerning dependency and indemnity compensation (DIC) for a veteran's surviving spouse, children, and parents and general rules relating to proof of death and service-connected cause of death to that proposed new part. The intended effect of the revisions is to assist claimants and VA personnel in locating and understanding these provisions.
