Title: Third Party Accreditation for Baby Bouncers, Walkers, and Jumpers | |
Abstract: Section 102(a) of the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 (CPSIA), Public Law 110-314, 122 Stat. 3016 (August 14, 2008), requires the Commission to publish notice of requirements for the accreditation of third party conformity bodies (laboratories) to assess conformity with the standard for baby bouncers, walkers, and jumpers by March 12, 2009. On January 30, 2008, the Commission voted 2-0 in favor of a Stay of Enforcement of Testing and Certification Requirements for certain products, including baby bouncers, walkers, and jumpers. The Stay is for one year and remains in effect until February 10, 2010, at which time the Commission will vote to terminate the stay. | |
