Title: Third Party Accreditation for Children's Products 
Abstract: Section 102(a) of the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 (CPSIA), Public Law 110-314, 122 Stat. 3016 (August 14, 2008), requires the Commission to publish notice of requirements for the accreditation of third party conformity assessment bodies (laboratories) to assess conformity with current children's product safety rules by June 14, 2009. On January 30, 2008, the Commission voted 2-0 in favor of a Stay of Enforcement of Testing and Certification Requirements for certain products, including certain childrens products. The Stay is for one year and remains in effect until February 10, 2010, at which time the Commission will vote to terminate the stay.
