Title: Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) for Farmers  
Abstract: TAA for Farmers provides free technical assistance, in the development of business plans, to producers of raw agricultural commodities, who have been adversely affected by import competition. The plans are to serve as a guide for adjusting their business operations to the new economic conditions. TAA for Farmers also provides cash payments related to the development and implementation of an initial business plan and then a long-term business adjustment plans. The revision of the existing regulation is necessary to comply with provisions under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA), which amends and reauthorize's the program. The new law changes eligibility requirements for groups of producers, benefits individual producers may receive, amounts of cash payments received, and the actions that must be taken before they are approved for cash payments.
