Title: Deregulation of FMVSS No. 219, Windshield Zone Intrusion
Abstract: This rulemaking would rescind FMVSS No. 219, Windshield Zone Intrusion. The agency has tentatively concluded that the original safety problem the standard was intended to address no longer exists. There has not been a compliance issue with this standard since shortly after it became effective. Additionally, we believe that other vehicle safety standards are in place to prevent the safety concern addressed by FMVSS No. 219.
