Title: Delegations From the Department of Transportation to the Maritime Administrator
Abstract: This rulemaking would amend 49 U.S.C. 1.66 Delegations to the Maritime Administration. On October 6, 2006, Public Law 109-304 was enacted to complete the codification of title 46 of the United States Code, "Shipping," as positive law, by reorganizing and restating the laws that are currently in the appendix to title 46. The numerous statutory changes enacted by Public Law 109-304 require conforming amendments to be made to the applicable regulations. This rulemaking makes corrections to the citations in the delegations of authority to the Maritime Administrator by the Secretary of the Department of Transportation. The Maritime Administration believes this rulemaking does not rise to the level of a significant rulemaking as set forth in section 3(f) of Executive Order 12866.
