Title: Revision of LNG and LHG Waterfront Facility General Requirements
Abstract: This project will revise Coast Guard requirements in 33 CFR part 127 for waterfront facilities that handle liquid hazardous gas (LHG) or liquid natural gas (LNG). This project will update references to the security requirements for these types of facilities to be consistent with 33 CFR parts 101 (General Provisions for Maritime Security) and 105 (Facility Security). This project will also revise part 127 to require the facility applicant to conduct, in addition to the part 105 facility security assessment, a suitability assessment of the waterway approaches to the facility. This will close a gap in our understanding of the vulnerabilities for these types of cargo.
