USDA/RUS RIN: 0572-AC16 Publication ID: Fall 2010
Title: Emergency Restoration Plan (ERP)
Abstract: The Rural Utilities Service, an agency of the United States Department of Agriculture, is proposing to amend the requirements established for emergency restoration plans, currently mandated for all Electric Borrowers, to include awareness of the requirements established by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for public assistance grant eligibility in the event of a declared disaster. This "awareness of requirements" should consist of borrower personnel reading and becoming familiar with FEMA public assistance grant requirements. The amendment should operate to ensure that Electric Program borrowers maintain their eligibility for financial aid from FEMA in the event they incur costs for disaster-related system repair and restoration of borrower-owned electric lines.
