Title: ●FAR Case 2009-041, Sudan Waiver Process
Abstract: The Civilian Agency Acquisition Council and the Defense Acquisition Regulations Council (the Councils) are proposing to amend the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) to revise section 25.702, Prohibition on contracting with entities that conduct restricted business operations in Sudan, to add content to the existing waiver authority and criteria to be considered by the agency prior to submitting a waiver request to OFPP. This is a significant regulatory action and, therefore, is subject to review under section 6 of Executive Order 12866, Regulatory Planning and Review, dated September 30, 1993. This rule is not a major rule under 5 U.S.C. 804.
