Title: Endangered and Threatened Wildlife and Plants; Listing and Designation of Critical Habitat for Eight Southeastern U.S. Freshwater Mussel Species
Abstract: We are proposing to list eight southeastern U.S. freshwater mussel species and concurrently designate critical habitat. These mussels are the round ebonyshell (Fusconaia rotulata), southern kidneyshell (Ptychobranchus jonesi), narrow pigtoe (Fusconaia escambia), southern sandshell (Hamiota australis), fuzzy pigtoe (Pleurobema strodeanum), Choctaw bean (Villosa choctawensis), tapered pigtoe (Fusconaia burkei), and Alabama pearlshell (Margaritifera marrianae).
