Title: ●Eagle Permits; Modifications to Regulations Governing Take To Protect Interests in Particular Localities | |
Abstract: This ANPR will solicit public comment on changes that would be appropriate to eagle take permit regulations finalized in 2009 for take of eagles that is associated with, but the purpose of, otherwise lawful activities, such as operation and construction of necessary utilities, road maintenance including bridge repairs, and the safe operation of airports (see 74 FR 46836). During the 2 years that the regulations have been in effect, some members of the regulated community have expressed concerns with some aspects of the rule, such as the 5-year permit tenure, the issuance criteria, and other provisions. We would like to give all interested members of the public the opportunity to review the regulations and recommend revisions that would improve their ability to serve the public while protecting eagles. | |
