Title: Mammoth Cave National Park--Bicycle Trails
Abstract: This rule would designate four bicycle trails in Mammoth Cave National Park. NPS regulations require a special regulation to authorize use of bicycles on routes outside of developed park areas. The local population around Mammoth Cave has a high interest in use of the bike trail, especially since it would connect to Park City's bike trail outside the park. NPS developed a comprehensive management plan environmental assessment (EA) and published a finding of no significant impact on December 18, 2008. The park held two separate public meetings for review and comment on the draft plan and EA. Included in the plan is construction of a 6-mile "single track" bicycle trail.
