DOE/EE RIN: 1904-AC36 Publication ID: Fall 2011
Title: Energy Conservation Standards for High-Intensity Discharge Lamps
Abstract: EPCA directed the Secretary of Energy to determine if an energy efficiency standard was technically feasible, economically justified, and would save energy. Upon completion of a positive determination, EPCA directs the Secretary to initiate a test procedure and energy efficiency standard related to this equipment. On June 16, 2010, the Secretary determined that energy efficiency standards for high-intensity discharge lamps were technically feasible, economically justified, and would save energy. DOE is required to develop a test procedure within 30 months of this determination and develop energy efficiency standards within 18 months of the test procedure.
