Title: Protection of Stratospheric Ozone: Listing of Substitutes in the Motor Vehicle Air Conditioning Sector Under the Significant New Alternatives Policy (SNAP) Program
Abstract: Under the Significant New Alternatives Policy (SNAP) program, EPA evaluates alternatives to ozone-depleting substances to ensure that they do not increase overall risks to human health and the environment. If finalized as proposed, this rule would expand the list of acceptable substitutes (subject to use conditions) for use in the motor vehicle air conditioning (MVAC) sector. EPA has already issued a final rule for the other substitute addressed in this proposal, R-152a. This final action pertains to R-744.
