Title: Inspection, Repair, and Maintenance; Driver-Vehicle Inspection Report for Intermodal Equipment 
Abstract: The FMCSA proposes to revise a requirement of the FMCSRs that applies to intermodal equipment providers and motor carriers operating intermodal equipment (IME). The purpose of this notice of proposed rulemaking is to delete the requirement for drivers operating IME to submit driver-vehicle inspection reports (DVIRs) when the driver has not found or been made aware of any defects (?no-defect DVIRs?). This proposal responds to a joint petition for rulemaking from the Ocean Carrier Equipment Management Association and the Institute of International Container Lessors.
