Title: Standards for the Planning, Design, Construction, and Operation of Health Care and Sanitation Facilities
Abstract: This proposed rule would implement section 311(c)(1) of the Indian Health Care Improvement Act (IHCIA), as amended by the Affordable Care Act, requiring the Secretary, acting through the Indian Health Service, to establish, by regulation, standards for the planning, design, construction, and operation of health care and sanitation facilities serving Indians under the IHCIA. Additionally, these regulations would stipulate which departmental regulations would be applicable to these activities.
