Title: ●Harmonization of Airworthiness Standards--Miscellaneous Structures Requirements
Abstract: This rulemaking would update numerous structure requirements based on Aviation Rulemaking Advisory Committee (ARAC) recommendations that are already incorporated in the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Certification Specifications for Large Aeroplanes (CS-25) requirements. ARAC tasked the Loads & Dynamics Harmonization Working Group to review and eliminate differences between EASA CS-25 and 14 CFR part 25. Since then, EASA has incorporated some of the recommended changes into CS-25, and this rulemaking would incorporate the standards as adopted by EASA into 14 CFR part 25, as recommended by ARAC. This rulemaking benefits manufacturers who would only need to consider one set of certification requirements. This harmonization effort would also reduce FAA workload and improve standardization.
