In response to eight petitions for reconsideration of the final rule, this rulemaking would amend and clarify the requirements related to remote control locomotives (RCL), locomotive alerters, and locomotive electronics. This rulemaking would also clarify how to properly record the air flow method calibration date and the duration of the audio indication for RCL.
