Title: Loan Participation; Purchase, Sale, and Pledge of Eligible Obligations; Purchase of Assets and Assumption of Liabilities 
Abstract: NCUA requested public comment on a proposal to amend and clarify its loan participation rule and eligible obligations rule. The proposed rule clarified the application of the loan participation rule and its relationship to other rules. It reorganized and streamlined the regulatory provisions relating to credit union purchases of loan participations to improve understanding of the transactions covered. The proposed rule is progressing toward the final rule stage. The proposed rule also expanded loan participation requirements to federally insured, State-chartered credit unions.
