Title: ●Small Vessel Reporting System
Abstract: As part of CBP's comprehensive effort to improve the security of our nation's borders while enhancing legitimate travel, specifically for boaters, CBP is proposing to implement the Small Vessel Reporting System (SVRS) as a regulatory program. SVRS is a web-based automated reporting system pilot for participant operators of small boats to expeditiously report their arrival in the United States from foreign places. SVRS enables participants to satisfy certain arrival reporting requirements by filing a float plan containing information about their voyage in advance of arrival, and then placing a telephone call to CBP upon arrival in the United States. This process will, in most cases, make it unnecessary for SVRS participants to also report for an in-person inspection upon arrival in the United States.
