Title: Revisions and Amendments to Regulations Governing Native American Programs authorized Under the Native American Programs Act of 1974
Abstract: This rule would codify recent program improvements including those that are required by Presidential Executive Order 13175 and 13592. Specifically, the changes would reflect, among other things: Executive Order 13592 (White House Initiative on American Indian and Alaska Native Education) which requires expansion of educational opportunities and improvement of educational outcomes for all American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) students; Executive Order 13175 which requires consultation and coordination with Indian Tribal Governments; and revisions in the funding opportunity for Sustainable and Economic Development Strategies (SEEDs) to focus on job creation and business development in Native American communities.
