Title: ●TWIC not Evidence of Resident Alien Status
Abstract: The Coast Guard is removing a provision from its Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) Activities personnel regulations, along with its associated recordkeeping reference. The provision being removed provides that a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) is sufficient evidence of permanent resident alien status. A TWIC can be obtained and issued to non-U.S. citizens and non-resident aliens. Therefore, a TWIC is not sufficient evidence of permanent resident alien status. To remedy this inconsistency, this provision must be removed, along with its associated definitional and recordkeeping references.
