Title: Mandatory Electronic Submission of Certain Forms and Applications to TTB
Abstract: The Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) is amending its regulations to require electronic filing of certain applications, including original and amended permit applications, registrations, notices, and supporting documents required by the TTB regulations, to operate alcohol- and tobacco-related businesses and to make tax free sales of firearms and ammunition. TTB is requiring the submission of these applications electronically through its document receiving system, the "Permits Online" system (PONL), in lieu of submitting applications in paper format on TTB forms. Electronic submission will be phased in, and TTB is providing a hardship exemption for those applicants who do not have the ability to submit forms electronically. TTB is making these changes to maximize the speed, efficiency, and accuracy with which applications are transmitted, accepted, processed, and approved.
