Title: Disclosures of Return Information to Officers and Employees of the Department of Commerce for Certain Statistical Purposes and Related Activities 
Abstract: This document adopts final regulations that permit the disclosure of (1) the total number of documents reported on Form 1096 transmitting Forms 1099-MISC, and (2) the total amount reported on Form 1096 transmitting Forms 1099-MISC on the ground that there is a strong need for this data because it provides critical information about contract labor.
