Title: Freedom of Information Act
Abstract: The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), as amended, permits any person to request access to agency records. Department of Energy (DOE) has promulgated a regulation at part 1004 of title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations to implement the FOIA. DOE is revising its FOIA regulations to reflect current procedures for processing requests for information that are submitted to the Agency, to ensure compliance with the Electronic Freedom of Information Act of 1996 and amendments in 2007 and 2009, and to make the regulations more user-friendly.
