Abstract: On December 8, 2006, DOE published a final rule (71 FR 71340) adopting test procedures for 11 types of products and equipment identified in the Energy Policy Act of 2005 (EPACT 2005, which amended EPCA), including medium base compact fluorescent lamps. Overall Description of Deadline: The Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 (EISA 2007) amended the Energy Policy and Conservation Act (EPCA) to require that DOE review test procedures for covered products at least once every 7 years. Because test procedures for medium base compact fluorescent lamps were issued prior to EISA 2007, DOE determined that the 7-year review period started with the enactment of EISA 2007 on December 19, 2007. DOE will, therefore, amend the test procedures by December 19, 2014. |
