Title: Test Procedure for Residential Dehumidifiers
Abstract: EPCA requires that DOE amend the test procedure at least once every 7 years, unless it determines that the existing test procedure does not need to be amended. (42 U.S.C. 6293(b)(1)). DOE is considering amending the residential dehumidifier test procedure to address active mode issues in this rulemaking. DOE addressed standby mode and off mode energy use, as well as certain active mode provisions, in the dehumidifier test procedure in a separate rulemaking, issued on October 10, 2012. In addition, DOE is considering amended energy conservation standards for residential dehumidifiers in a rulemaking for which a notice of proposed rulemaking is expected to publish in 2015. Therefore, DOE expects to publish this test procedure final rule in advance of the 2019 EPCA deadline
