Title: Cost Recovery from Amendment 80, Community Development Quota Groundfish and Halibut, American Fisheries Act and Aleutian Islands Pollock, and the Freezer Longline Coalition Pacific Cod Fisheries Man
Abstract: The National Marine Fisheries Service proposes regulations to implement a limited access permit program cost recovery fee for Amendment 80, Western Alaska Community Development Quota groundfish and halibut, American Fisheries Act and Aleutian Islands Pollock, and the Pacific Cod Freezer Longline Coalition fisheries management programs in the Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands. The purpose of this action is to comply with Section 304(d) of the Magnuson-Stevens Act, which authorizes and requires the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) fisheries to collect fees for limited access permit programs and the Western Alaska Community Development Quota program. The fees collected would be used to recover the actual costs directly related to the management, data collection, and enforcement of these programs that are incurred by the National Marine Fisheries Service.
