Title: Applicability of USPTO Rules of Professional Conduct to Persons not Registered or Recognized to Practice Before the Office
Abstract: The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) periodically reviews its regulations to ensure that they are current, correct, and consistent. The Office is amending Part 11 (Representation of Others Before the USPTO) of Title 37 of the Code of Federal Regulations. The amendment will provide clarification of the applicability of the USPTO Rules of Professional Conduct to persons who practice before the USPTO without proper authority, i.e., persons not registered or recognized to practice before the USPTO.
