Abstract:

We listed the rufa red knot (Calidris canutus rufa) as threatened under the Endangered Species Act. This bird travels between breeding areas in the central Canadian Arctic and wintering areas that are primarily in southern South America along the coasts of Chile and Argentina. The species migrates along the Atlantic coast of the United States, where it may be found from Maine to Florida. Proposed critical habitat is under RIN 1018-AZ75.
