Title: General Services Administration Acquisition Regulation (GSAR); GSAR Case 2007-G500, Rewrite of GSAR Part 517, Special Contracting Methods
Abstract:

This rule is a result of the General Services Administration Acquisition Regulation (GSAR) rewrite initiative undertaken by General Services Administration (GSA) to revise the GSAR to maintain consistency with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and to implement streamlined and innovative acquisition procedures that contractors, offerors, and GSA contracting personnel can utilize when entering into and administering contractual relationships. The rule seeks to revise language to make it clearer, update statutory citations, and to delete obsolete language. The rule was put on hold pending FAR Cases 2008-032 and 2012-010 affecting interagency acquisitions.  The final rule for FAR Case 2008-032 and 2012-010 was published in December 2011 and June 2013, respectively. This case is included in GSA's retrospective review of existing regulations under Executive Order 13563. Additional information is located in GSA's retrospective review (2015), available at: www.gsa.gov/improvingregulations.
