Title: Production of Records in Legal Proceedings | |
Abstract:
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) proposes to revise 49 CFR part 837, which contains procedures for requesting records from the NTSB for legal proceedings. Separate from part 801, part 837 describes how litigants may obtain records in conjunction with NTSB employee testimony. As with part 835, production of records will only occur upon approval of the NTSB General Counsel. The proposed revisions will update various terms and other outdated information. The NTSB's NPRM for part 837 follows a notice the NTSB published in the Federal Register in June 2012, which indicated the NTSB would review all NTSB regulations and amend them to ensure they are up-to-date, in accordance with Executive Orders 13563 and 13579. |
