Title: Comprehensive Amendment to the U.S. Caribbean Fishery Management Plans: Application of Accountability Measures
Abstract: This rule would resolve inconsistencies between language in the U.S. Caribbean fishery management plans and language in the regulations describing the application of accountability measures in the U.S. Caribbean exclusive economic zone. Specifically, language in the U.S. Caribbean fishery management plans states that accountability measure-based closures will remain in place until modified by the Caribbean Fishery Management Council (Council); however, applicable regulations end accountability measure-based closures on December 31st of each fishing year without any Council action required. This action will correct this inconsistency between the regulations and the U.S. Caribbean fishery management plans.
