Title: ●Implement Western Aleutian Islands Golden King Crab Full Offload Delivery Exemption
Abstract: This rule would create an exemption for the Western Aleutian Islands golden king crab fishery from the prohibition under the Crab Rationalization Program against resuming fishing before all crab have been offloaded from a vessel. This rule is necessary to allow participants in the fishery to deliver live crab to remote ports near the fishing grounds to supply live crab markets. The processor currently operating in this remote area has limited capacity to accept a full vessel load of crab; therefore, it would be more economical for fishery participants to make a partial delivery of live crab and then continue fishing until they have a full load to offload at a processor with sufficient capacity that is farther from the fishing grounds.
