Title: ●Regulatory Amendment to Require Tender Vessel Operators to use tLandings to Prepare Electronic Landing Reports in the Groundfish Fisheries off Alaska | |
Abstract:
This proposed rule would require the operators of tender vessels taking deliveries of groundfish in the federally managed fisheries off Alaska to use the NMFS-developed applications software tLandings to prepare electronic landing reports. Adding the tLandings component to the electronic data collection system would improve the timeliness and accuracy of the landing reports for catcher vessels delivering to tenders and would allow NMFS to more accurately identify deliveries made to a tender. These requirements would affect approximately 11 tender vessel operators that deliver groundfish to seven processors in the Gulf of Alaska. Although most deliveries of groundfish currently occur in the Gulf of Alaska groundfish fisheries, the requirement to use tLandings also would apply to any tender vessel deliveries that may occur in the Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands management area in the future. |
