Abstract:
This rule complies with Public Law 101-380, section 8201 that requires adjustment of civil penalty amounts based on the Consumer Price Index. There are no complexities or controversies. The Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement routinely adjusts its civil penalty assessments when the calculations warrant the increase. The rule will not be controversial as the adjustment is required by law. |
