We will perform technical amendments of the format of the Lists of Endangered and Threatened Wildlife and Plants, in accordance with the Endangered Species Act. These are not substantive changes to the Lists, nor to any applicable regulations. In the list for animals at 50 CFR 17.11, we will revise the "Vertebrate population where endangered or threatened" column title to read as "Where listed," to more clearly describe the purpose of the column and to reflect that there are experimental populations and invertebrate species on the list as well. We will also update and standardize the list entries to include distinct population segment names and references to CFR sections affecting species under the purview of the National Marine Fisheries Service (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration). We will also change "Entire" to "Wherever found," to better describe areas where listed species are protected. In the plants list (at 50 CFR 17.12), we will add a new column, entitled "Where listed," to reflect that experimental populations of plants can also be listed. This addition will also standardize the plants and animals lists to the same format. We will also remove the column headed "Family," and instead refer users to the Fish and Wildlife Service's species profile Web pages on our Internet site.
