On April 25, 2013, we published a proposed rule to designate critical habitat for the Sierra Nevada yellow-legged frog, the northern distinct population segment (DPS) of the mountain yellow-legged frog, and the Yosemite toad. With this final rule, we will designate critical habitat for the Sierra Nevada yellow-legged frog, the northern DPS of the mountain yellow-legged frog, and the Yosemite toad. In total, critical habitat is proposed for the Sierra Nevada yellow-legged frog across 16 California counties, for the northern DPS of the mountain yellow-legged frog across 2 California counties, and for the Yosemite toad across 7 California counties. There is significant overlap in the covered area for these three species. Yosemite toad is listed as a threatened species, and the Sierra Nevada yellow-legged frog and the northern DPS of the mountain yellow-legged frog are listed as endangered species.
