Title: Endangered and Threatened Wildlife and Plants; Amending the Listing for the Southern Selkirk Mountains Population of Woodland Caribou | |
Abstract:
We will make a final determination on our proposal to amend the current listing of the endangered southern Selkirk Mountains population of woodland caribou, to define a distinct population segment (DPS) consistent with our 1996 DPS Policy. We will make a final determination on the proposal to list as threatened the Southern Mountain Caribou DPS, which includes the southern Selkirk Mountains population of woodland caribou, a transboundary species between British Columbia, Canada, and northern Idaho and northeastern Washington. This rule also reaffirms the designation of approximately 30,010 acres (12,145 hectares) of critical habitat in one unit within Boundary County, ID, and Pend Oreille County, WA, that was established in 2012 (77 FR 71042) and applies it to the the Southern Mountain Caribou DPS. |
